Thesis Title: The neurobiological mechanisms mediating the co-morbidity of affective disorders and chronic pain

Dr. Michelle Roche
Dr. David P. Finn

About

My research interest is neurobiological mechanisms mediating the co-morbidity of affective disorders (depression, anxiety, schizophrenia) and chronic pain. Although chronic pain and affective disorders are intricately linked, the underlying neurobiology relating to the co-occurrence of affective disorders and pathological pain remains ambiguous. My research aims to gain further knowledge of the neurobiological systems mediating the co-morbidity of these conditions by combining models of chronic pain and mood disorders.
