About
I am a Lecturer in Law at the National University of Ireland, Galway, where I teach criminal law.
I am currently finishing a PhD at University College Cork on due process protections in historic child sexual abuse prosecutions. My PhD research was funded by the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and the Social Sciences.
I have held Visiting Researcher Positions at Harvard Law School (Spring 2010, Supervisor, Prof Carol Steiker) and at the Institute for Feminist Legal Studies, Osgoode Hall, Toronto (Summer, 2009).
My work has been published by the Judicial Studies Institute Journal, First Law Criminal Law Updates as well as the Irish Student Law Review. Prior to commencing my doctoral studies, I was the Principal Legal Researcher on the Irish Law Reform Commission’s Report on Prosecution Appeals and Pre-Trial Hearings (2006).
I have presented at national and international conferences, including the Society of Legal Scholars, the Socio-Legal Studies Association and the European Society of Criminology.
